How does Otto work?+
You export a chat from WhatsApp, iMessage, Instagram or Messenger, import it here, and Otto crunches the stats (who talks most, reply times, hours, emojis…) then writes a report with scores, exact quotes, awards and a verdict.
Is it free?+
The preview is free: all the stats and the first analysis. The full report costs €9.99, one-time payment, no subscription.
Are my chats safe?+
The file is read directly in your browser and isn't stored on our servers. Only a text excerpt is sent to our AI provider to write the report; we don't keep it, and it's never used to train an AI. You can delete everything in one click from the report page.
How do I export a WhatsApp chat?+
iPhone: open the chat, tap the name at the top, “Export Chat”, then “Without Media”. Android: ⋮ → More → Export chat → Without media. Then import the .zip or .txt file.
What about iMessage, Instagram or Messenger?+
iMessage: export the conversation as .txt from a Mac with a tool like imessage-exporter or iMazing. Instagram and Messenger: request a download of your information in JSON format from Meta's Accounts Center, then import the chat's message_1.json file.
